About

ConvertLab.cloud is a file converter built around one simple idea: your files belong to you.

Where do your files go?

Many online converters route your files through opaque infrastructure, sometimes outside Europe, without telling you what happens to them. ConvertLab.cloud takes the opposite approach: your files are sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our own servers, hosted in France. They are converted in an isolated workspace, then deleted automatically as soon as your result is delivered. Nothing is kept, nothing is analysed, nothing is shared.

How does it work?

Your file is transmitted encrypted to our conversion server. Depending on the format, it is processed by trusted professional engines — FFmpeg for audio and video, LibreOffice for office documents, ImageMagick for images, Pandoc and Calibre for text and ebooks. The converted file is sent back to you, then the workspace is destroyed entirely: a few seconds after the conversion, your file no longer exists on our servers.

Is it really free?

Yes. The free plan covers the most common formats, no sign-up required. Two limits worth knowing: 1 video conversion per day and 10 files per day, to preserve our servers' resources and keep the service free. To go further (premium formats, unlimited videos, batch conversions), the NoLimit pass at €2 for 31 days removes every restriction.

Advertising

ConvertLab.cloud is funded by non-intrusive advertising. No behavioural tracking, no data resale. Advertising is our only revenue model on the free plan.
