Frequently asked questions

How to convert YAML to JSON in ConvertLab?+

Choose your YAML file, select JSON, then proceed to preparation. Check the displayed options and click "Start conversion." After processing, download the result and open it in your target application. Simply selecting an output does not send your file.

Is the conversion from YAML to JSON free?+

This conversion is part of the free offer: up to three files per submission, ten files per day, and one video per day, with a maximum of 100 MB per file. The daily quota is shared per IP address; multiple people on the same network can therefore share it.

What elements should be checked in the result?+

Check the number of rows, columns, accented characters, dates, empty values, and leading zeros. Validate a small sample in your application before importing the entire result.

Why does my JSON change structure when converted to CSV?+

CSV represents a table of rows and columns. JSON can contain objects and nested lists that do not transpose directly. Convert a copy, check how the fields are represented, and keep the JSON if your usage requires retaining its entire structure.

How can one avoid losing the leading zeros in identifiers?+

When opening the CSV in a spreadsheet, import the identifier columns as text. Automatic opening can turn 00123 into 123. Also check the dates and decimal separators before re-saving.

Can I convert a file containing secrets?+

Remove passwords, API keys, and other secrets before sending a sample to the service or support. File processing is done online. For data that must not leave your device, use a suitable local tool.

What to do if the conversion fails?+

Read the displayed message: a size limit, a reached quota, and an unsupported format require different actions. Check that the file opens locally, then try again with a lighter copy if necessary. If the problem persists, contact support with the formats, size, and error message, without attaching sensitive data.
