How to convert a file with ConvertLab? +
Choose Documents, Images, Video, Audio, Archives, or Data & Code from the home page. Select a suggested conversion, add your file, adjust the options, then start the process. You will then be able to download the result.

Is it free and do you need an account? +
Conversions with the free offer work without registration, on the format pairs indicated as free. You can prepare up to 3 files per submission for free, and up to 10 with a valid NoLimit access. The free quota is 10 files per day, including 1 video, per IP address. A shared Internet connection can therefore share the same quota.
What is the maximum file size? +
The free limit is 100 MB per file. Valid NoLimit accesses have a technical limit of 1 GB per file, reduced to 250 MB for video. A size limit does not guarantee that every file can be converted: its structure, codecs, and processing time also matter.
Which formats can I convert? +
The thematic pages present the available conversions: PDF, DOCX or EPUB for documents; JPEG, PNG, HEIC or AVIF for images; MP4, MOV or WEBM for video, and many other formats. The input and output possibilities differ: the presence of a format does not mean that all combinations are possible.

Can I convert a HEIC photo to JPG? +
Yes, the conversion HEIC to JPEG is offered in the Images theme. JPG and JPEG refer to the same format. For images, check the result if you need to preserve transparency, colors, or metadata.

Can a scanned PDF become an editable document? +
A scanned PDF contains images of pages: simply changing its format is not always enough to recover the text. The Documents tools offer text recognition (OCR). Its quality depends on sharpness, language, and layout. Review the result.

Are the quality and layout always preserved? +
It depends on the chosen format. Lossy compression can alter an image, sound, or video. A change in office format can move layout elements. Keep a copy of the original and check the resulting file before sharing it.
Why does a conversion fail or take time? +
The delay depends on the sending speed, the file size, processing, and server availability. An empty, damaged, protected file, or one using an unsupported codec may fail. Check the displayed message; if in doubt, contact us with the source and target formats and the error message, without attaching any confidential content.

Where are my files processed and when are they deleted? +
The conversion service provided for the site uses a server hosted in France and temporary spaces separate for each process. Under normal operation, the cleaning of the source and the result is triggered after sending the response to the browser. The site is not a storage space: save your result before leaving the page.

Can I retrieve my result after closing the page? +
Do not rely on a download history. Save the result on your device before closing or reloading the page. If the result is no longer available, you will have to start again from the original.
Can I use ConvertLab on a phone? +
Yes, the site can be used in the browser of a phone or a computer, with an Internet connection. No native mobile app is necessary. On a phone, keep the browser open during processing and check where your device saves downloads.
Do unit and currency conversions require a file? +
No. These two topics use values to be entered, without uploading a document. For currencies, check the source and date of the displayed rates: the result is indicative and may differ from the rate actually applied to a transaction.

Why are certain formats reserved for NoLimit? +
The free offer provides access to a selection of conversions. The new NoLimit offer at €2 per month is in preparation: subscriptions are not yet open. It includes no advertising and no daily quota during the subscription, with cancellable automatic renewal and technical limits per file. Historical accesses retain their expiration.

How are advertising and cookies managed? +
Advertising must contribute to the financing of the free offer. In the version being prepared, it remains disabled as long as its configuration and the management of consent are not validated. The conditions for data processing are described in the privacy policy.
